Furniture Program

For children in crisis, a stable home is the first step toward permanency. Through our Furniture Program, we help families create lasting, secure environments by providing essential furniture—beds for peaceful sleep, dining tables for shared meals, and sofas where families can bond and heal. Each month, we equip approximately 10 families with the furnishings they need to support reunification, kinship placement, or long-term care.

Our application process, exclusive to caseworkers, ensures a streamlined experience for families transitioning under DFPS supervision. Following the application, our staff works closely with families to select suitable items and to arrange deliveries, ensuring a personalized and efficient service.

It is about more than meeting the physical need.

It is about more than meeting the physical need.

Permanency is about more than furniture—it’s about strengthening families for the long haul. Every delivery is an opportunity to encourage, pray for, and support caregivers as they provide safe, loving homes. We’re not just furnishing houses; we’re helping families lay the foundation for stability, security, and a future together.

At Entrusted Houston, we believe in restoring families by offering dignity, stability, and the love of Christ in tangible ways. Through every delivery, we have the privilege of praying with and encouraging caregivers, reminding them they are seen, valued, and never alone.

Volunteer

  • We welcome church groups to deliver furniture, meeting practical needs while facilitating meaningful ministry. This provides an invaluable opportunity to connect with families who are open to prayer and encouragement during challenging times.

Proximity enhances this connection, fostering relationships between families and a supportive community of believers.

If your group is interested in volunteering, please contact our staff to arrange an opportunity. We look forward to collaborating

  • Entrusted Houston constantly seeks assistance with inventory management. Our inventory changes frequently, and we need groups to help move items from our box truck into storage or from our Resource Center to storage units. It is also essential to group like items together for better access and accurate tracking.

If you would like to help, please contact our staff. Your support enhances our ability to serve Houston's vulnerable families effectively.

Donate

  • We are seeking small sofas, dressers, small dining sets, and twin bed frames and mattresses in great condition. If you have any of these items to donate, please contact our team.

To ensure a proper fit for the families we serve, we request a picture of the items prior to donation to confirm size and condition.

While we prefer delivery of donations to our Resource Center, we can arrange for pickup if the distance is manageable. Thank you for your support of families in need.

  • Our Amazon Wish List reflects our ongoing furniture needs, essential for supporting families under the care of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.

We maintain a constant waiting list for dressers, and small sofas, and beds, as the demand is significant and our resources are limited.

  • With 60% of our inventory coming from donations, we’re able to offer essential items tailored to each family’s needs. For pieces we don’t receive through donations, we rely on funding from our Furniture Program to fill in the gaps.

Each family receives one delivery, and we strive to include everything they need to create a safe and stable home. Your financial support doesn’t just provide furniture—it helps children stay with relatives or trusted friends instead of entering the foster care system. It also helps keep families together while they receive support services through CPS.
